Halilhodžić Submits Preliminary World Cup Squad to Algerian FA
Algeria’s preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup have taken a significant step forward as national team coach Vahid Halilhodžić met with Mohamed Raouraoua, the president of the Algerian Football Federation, at the technical center in Sidi Moussa.
During this meeting, Halilhodžić presented a provisional list of 30 players, carefully selected in consultation with his coaching staff. These players are expected to be officially called up in early May to begin preparations for the global tournament in Brazil.
Algeria, drawn into Group H, will face Belgium, South Korea, and Russia in the group stage. It’s a challenging group, but one that offers the Fennecs a real shot at making history, especially with a tactician like Halilhodžić at the helm and a crop of talented players both locally and abroad.
The upcoming weeks will be critical as the squad gears up for the tournament, with the final 23-man list expected to be confirmed later in May, per FIFA regulations.
