FIFA has disclosed the composition of the pots for the 2014 World Cup draw. Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Nigeria find themselves in Pot 2 alongside Chile and Ecuador. The World Cup Organizing Commission used the FIFA world ranking from October to determine the seedings before the draw scheduled for Friday.
Ahead of the draw, some Algerian players have expressed their preferences for teams they would like to face in the group stage. Fennecs striker Hilal Soudani has expressed a desire to face Croatia, citing the prospect of playing against his club teammates and finding it interesting to potentially score against them.
Madjid Bougherra, on the other hand, has revealed his wish to cross paths with Brazil in the World Cup. He mentioned that playing against Brazil in the World Cup, especially in the country of King Pelé, is the dream of every footballer. Bougherra also acknowledged the challenge of facing Italy for its tactical rigor and expressed openness to encountering teams like Japan or Korea.
