In a poll conducted by Africa Top Sports, readers predicted the teams they believe will qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil from the African play-offs. Here are the results:

  1. Ivory Coast: With 79% of the votes, readers believe Ivory Coast will secure their spot in Brazil. The Elephants won the first leg against Senegal 3-1 and are favored to advance.
  2. Nigeria: Gathering 75% of the votes, Nigeria is expected to qualify after their 2-1 away win against Ethiopia in the first leg. The return match will be played in Calabar, where Nigeria has a strong record.
  3. Ghana: Ghana received an overwhelming 88% of the votes, making them the top pick to qualify. The Black Stars dominated Egypt 6-1 in the first leg, and readers see little chance for Egypt to overturn the deficit.
  4. Algeria: Despite losing the first leg 3-2, Algeria is favored to qualify with 68% of the votes. The return match against Burkina Faso will take place in Blida.
  5. Cameroon: Readers believe Cameroon will qualify with 54% of the votes. The first leg against Tunisia ended in a 0-0 draw, and readers expect Cameroon to secure their place in Brazil.

The return matches are scheduled for November 16, 17, and 19, with the final teams earning their spots in the 2014 World Cup.
