Despite the limited optimism surrounding the Lions’ return match against the Elephants, the Senegalese state and football authorities are actively mobilizing to support the team. Plans are in place to transport 350 enthusiastic supporters, known as “ambiancers,” to Morocco for the crucial game against the Ivory Coast.
A meeting between the national association of Senegal supporters, twelfth Gaindé, and the Senegalese football federation took place during the executive half of the federation’s meeting. The discussions focused on coordinating efforts to ensure a significant presence of supporters in Casablanca to boost the team and encourage them to achieve success.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided that substantial support would be provided to the supporters to facilitate their mass travel to Casablanca. Amadou Kâne, the vice president of the federation in charge of high competition, revealed that a group of 350 supporters would be transported to Casablanca. The supporters, colloquially referred to as “pimps,” will travel by road through Mauritania, covering a distance of more than 1500 km via the trans-Saharan route.
The dedication of the Senegalese supporters is evident, with the sentiment that the most important goal is to support the Lions and witness them achieve their objectives. The supporters are reportedly willing to undertake the journey, highlighting their unwavering commitment to the team.
