In the football tournament of the 7th Francophonie Games in Nice, Congo won the gold medal by defeating Morocco 2-1 in the final. Despite Morocco opening the scoring with a goal from Omar Ati Allah, Bersyl Obassi Ngatsongo’s second-half double secured the victory for Congo. Senegal won the bronze medal by beating Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout, with a final score of 11-10.
